Nyame Bekyere: Planting Seeds for a Regenerative Future

Nyame Bekyere

When I accepted the honor of becoming Nkosuohene—Chief of Development—of Nyame Bekyere, I did so with a vision burning in my heart. I believe our small but mighty community can become a shining model for durable, self-reliant, and regenerative development, not just in Ghana, but across all of Africa.

Community development, when done right, is never a one-person show. It thrives at the crossroads of private sector energy, government support, and the dedication of non-governmental organizations. This is where real, lasting change begins. But these efforts must be led by conscious, accountable, and community-centered entrepreneurs—people and businesses who see beyond profit and understand the shared responsibility of building a better tomorrow.

At Nyame Bekyere, our approach is rooted in sustainability and innovation. We are building institutions from the ground up—literally. Picture a vibrant ground level filled with community resources and public spaces, with private businesses above that help sustain these institutions financially. This creates a true trickle-down effect, where the success of enterprise directly supports the well-being of the people.

We are committed to working with partners who align with Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) standards, and who value equitable, ethical growth. Together, we can ensure that progress is not just fast—but fair, responsible, and enduring.

Nyame Bekyere is only about a mile in size, but it sits in a strategic location—equidistant between Adawso and Koforidua, the administrative capital of the Eastern Region. We have the land to develop smartly, while protecting our greenspaces and preserving the natural ecosystem that sustains us.

This journey has already begun. After my enstoolment, we celebrated a milestone—the ribbon-cutting of our first major institution, the Nyame Bekyere Community Center. This space is more than just a building—it’s a commitment. It’s the first brick in what we hope will become a thriving, self-sustaining, and regenerative community for generations to come.

We know the road ahead will require resources—financial, technical, and human. It will require the heart of partnerships rooted in trust and shared purpose. But above all, it will require love for community—the kind of love that sees the potential in people and invests in their future.

If you share this vision, we welcome you to join hands with us. Together, we can make Nyame Bekyere a living blueprint for communities everywhere who dream of building with dignity, purpose, and sustainability.

I’ve spoken about my journey in various interviews but never like this. I’ve learned this the hard way: When you don’t tell your own story, people will tell it for you. And they’ll get it wrong. Every single time. I’m done letting that happen.

This is about more than just pride. It’s about ownership. It’s about healing. It’s about showing up fully, in my own words. Because no one can speak for me better than I can. This is just a summary and there is more coming.
